The Layer 2 VPN service utilizes either AToM, a breakthrough platform that enables interconnection of Layer 2 traffic inside a Layer 3 network built on MPLS infrastructure, or VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service), a true Layer 2 switched virtual private networking technology for wide-area Ethernet connectivity.
